Reunion Memories and Comments:
The reunion was great! It was fun to catch up with our old classmates.
Dinner was Salmon or Prime Rib. Linda had the salmon, and thought it was delicious, I had the prime rib and cleaned my plate. Cheesecake for dessert, along with a champagne toast to the class of '69. They had a raffle and David Molles won the TV set, and Roseanna Farr won the other two gifts, a Karaoke machine and a DVD player. She bought lots of raffle tickets, let me till ya! Speaking of Karaoke, a bunch of the guys got up and sang their little hearts out to some classic oldies from 1969. Martha sang House of the Rising Sun. Jeff Bigelow treated us to Lynard Skynard. Eddie Saldana and his wife won an award for their community service, and of course, there was dancing.
I managed to walk around the room and get a lot of people to say Hi! to you and Jerry. Steve Goss was very upset that Jerry did not come. He told me he had $150,000.00 for Jerry to invest for him, but that's not gonna happen now! And I got a lot of digital snapshots for the web page. The night went by too fast, but I caught some of it on video for you and Jerry.

When I walked into the room where our reunion was being held, I had my hand in my husband's. As soon as I started seeing people I knew from 35 years ago, my husband was temporarily history. He knows me pretty well so wasn't surprised by my behavior and I think it makes him happy to see me so happy and having fun. It doesn't seem like 35 years have passed. It seems more like 10. I felt like I was able to go back in time when life was simpler although at the time, I thought pretty complicated.
It's hard to describe how happy I felt and loved seeing everyone.
My biggest regret is that it was so short and I didn't get to talk to everyone. I tried to take photos of everyone but got lots of some people and none of others. I started asking folks, "Did I take your picture?" because I couldn't remember who I'd taken photos of already. But for awhile I felt like a kid again and that was a great feeling.
It amazes me how I haven't spoken to or had any contact with anyone for 15 years, yet they aren't strangers. It was wonderful to walk into a room and know most of the people in it. There is no other time in my life that I've spent time with a group of people so large that I mostly knew. It's just wonderful. You go to seminars in your life and travel around and have an absolutely boring time with people you know nothing about. Then you have a reunion with your high school classmates and you just feel warm and fuzzy all evening.
My husband knows this is now a requirement for the rest of our lives. He said it's the most fun he's ever had at a reunion. Thank goodness! I won't miss any more if I can help it.
I had thought that the last reunion I had gone to was the 15 year reunion when my youngest daughter was a baby. Then I saw a photo of the 20 year reunion and recognized someone who looked just like me! Turns out it was me and after seeing photos others took of me, I remembered the 20th. reunion. That was amazing that I could have forgotten that. I do remember now and Elaine Jodauga told me I and my husband at the time, had gone out for dinner with her and her husband after the 20th. reunion and I have yet to remember that. Maybe that will come back too.
Larry Dickey and his wife Olive were kind enough to meet us earlier in the day and drive us all over Pomona to see familiar places. I was having one flash back after another. It was simply amazing. I imagine my husband was bored to tears but he never let on. I don't know if I'd have found half the places Larry took us to on my own, but things kept coming back. I had a wonderful time! I can't wait for the next one.
